my name is Anton Wernik and I am a Berlin-based maker working at the intersection of architecture, craft, and material curiosity.
After completing my Abitur in Berlin-Tegel, I studied architecture in a dual Bachelor program while working with David Chipperfield Architects, where I learned to think in systems and proportions.
That architectural foundation naturally pulled me deeper into the physical side of design—so I trained as a carpenter at the Max Bill School and in a workshop environment, focusing on clean construction, durability, and detail. Along the way I’ve gained hands-on experience through internships and self-initiated build projects, and I’m drawn to materials with a story—re-use, honest surfaces, and the small marks that make objects feel lived-in.
Outside the studio, sport and travel have shaped how I work:
years of field hockey as a player and coach taught me discipline, teamwork, and patience, while time abroad in Canada and travels through South America broadened my perspective and sharpened my eye. Today, I document my work and surroundings through photography and sketching, always looking for the balance between structure and atmosphere.
